Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Macy’s 83rd annual Thanksgiving Parade, held in New York City this year on November 26, continued a tradition started in 1924, 85 years ago.

New balloons in 2009 were the Pillsbury Doughboy, Mickey Mouse, Ronald McDonald, and Spider-Man. Broadway shows portrayed this year were Billy Elliot, Bye, Bye Birdie, Hair and Shrek.
